What a wonderfully blessed Easter weekend! I was coming off of two weeks of up at 6 am down at 11 and was so exhausted, not particularly looking forward to a weekend jam packed of events but man did we have some fun!
I debated with whether or not to dye eggs with Brady because I thought, he's only two, he'll be interested for 30 seconds and then off on his next adventure.... Boy was I WRONG! I'm so glad Brady's babysitter, Kim, put the guilt trip on me and we did it!!
Trying to figure this whole thing out.....
Pretty dang cool mom!!!
Proud of all that hard work!!
We started off early Saturday morning at the zoo with some good friends of ours, Laurel and Layney Molini. We met at 8 ready to get our egg hunt on!! I had a feeling pictures with the easter bunny were pretty much out of the question since our little incident with "Rambo" the Owasso Rams Mascot last fall... He pretty much shakes and screams when he sees any costumed thing heading his way. Sure enough, the little old lady asked if he'd be taking any pictures with the Easter bunny and he proudly replied, "NOPE! I scared da Eater Bunny!" That's okay, maybe next year :) Here are a few pictures from the Zoo!
Waiting for the countdown!!
Move it or lose it sister!!
After the Zoo hunt, we came home for a quick nap before the neighborhood egg hunt! Our small group puts on the event and for the second year in a row, it was a huge success!! We just purchase 250-500 eggs per family and fill them with candy, then distribute fliers all over our neighborhood and watch the kiddos flood in! This year, we were so fortunate enough to get $100 donation to go toward candy. What a blessing!
Getting lined up and ready to go!
Directly following the neighborhood hunt, we headed home to get ready for Bobby's 30th Birthday block party! Bobby isn't much for making a fuss about birthdays, especially his own, but I suggested we do something fun this being a monumental one and all! He decided the only thing he really wanted was to get to know his neighbors better so we bought a ton of food and invited the neighbors and a bunch of his close friends and family over and 'we had us a cookout'! Pretty much the entire cul de sac showed up, along with a bunch our friends and family and we had a blast! I think we counted close to 70 guests throughout the evening!! I am so mad at myself for not remembering to get the camera out but I was too busy getting to know our neighbors! It was fun and it's so nice to be able to have a conversation with them by name now instead of a measly wave every once in awhile! If you don't know you neighbors, I urge you to go introduce yourself!
Sunday was just awesome! We started our day at FCC, man was God moving through that place! I am so humbled to serve a God that has so much love for me. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Now that I have my own children, God's love for us is totally put into perspective for me. It gives me chills just thinking about it... PRAISE HIM, HE IS RISEN!!!!!
A few pics from our Easter outfit photo shoot :)
We went with plaids this year :)
