Brady is now just shy of 2.5 and everyone says that most boys aren't ready to potty train until at least 3 years old. I beg to differ... He shows all the signs that he is completely capable of trading in his diapers for some big boy undies!
Let me just say that since the day Brady was born I have absolutely DREADED the day that we were going to have to start potty training. I don't know why I wasn't really nervous about all the other HUGE monumental milestones like feeding yourself, walking, talking, etc. but this potty thing really has me wound up. We started the whole process about a month ago, knowing we were just going to kind of introduce it slowly to make sure he was really ready for it. He was AWESOME!! I can probably count on one hand the number of accidents he had but we slowly learned that he would rather constipate himself than poo poo on the potty. He told us when he had to go but the second his booty hit that seat he'd say, " I NOT POOPY IN DA POTTY I NOT!!!" So we'd put a diaper on him and out it would come. Last week, he started taking his diaper off himself after he pooped and saying things like, "das digusting!" and "ewwwwww yucky." I said enough. He will do it.
It wasn't pretty and it took a whole lot of bribes and constipated days but (sound the horns), HE DID IT!!! Bobby and I told him we'd buy an awesome present at the store if he did it and he held us to that promise! I was on my way to Wal Mart with the boys this morning to get his "present", which to me was a little $3 football, when Bobby shows up with this look on his face like Brady just got elected President of the United States and puts this big little tikes slide in the cart... Okay, that works too :)
All of this for one little poop :)
We are so proud!!!

GOOOOOOO TEAM!
I. Am. Exhausted. Another year of auditions have come and gone. After 12 weeks of our winter training program, we auditioned almost 45 girls. I took 41 of those sweet faces and am so incredibly excited for what this year has in store! As excited as I am, I always find myself so emotionally drained. I get really attached to these girls and ultimately want to take them all and love them and take care of them etc, but at the end of the day some of them just don't want it enough.
I am listening to some news show in the background about how a lady gave birth but didn't have a clue she was even pregnant.... Yeah right... Sorry A.D.D. It's preventing me from pouring my heart out!
I guess all I have to say is that I absolutely love my job as the Director of the Owasso Color Guard and am so blessed that I am able to do it. I like to tell everyone that I have the best of both of my worlds. I get to stay at home with the boys AND love my work! I love the mental, physical and emotional strength that the girls develop through this activity. I love to watch them step outside of their comfort zones and grow personally. I love to watch them grow from awkward junior high girls to intelligent, respectful, respectable high school girls. I love to watch them set goals and achieve them and most of all, I love to watch them break through the mental block of "I can't". The OCG has a ton of exciting changes happening this season and I am so excited that I get to be a part of it! Please pray for these 41 girls and the influence that I have on them. They are in for an incredible experience this season!
Thank you to you Timmy for believing and investing so much into me. I love you and good luck tomorrow!!

Jesus, eggs, friends and family!
What a wonderfully blessed Easter weekend! I was coming off of two weeks of up at 6 am down at 11 and was so exhausted, not particularly looking forward to a weekend jam packed of events but man did we have some fun!
I debated with whether or not to dye eggs with Brady because I thought, he's only two, he'll be interested for 30 seconds and then off on his next adventure.... Boy was I WRONG! I'm so glad Brady's babysitter, Kim, put the guilt trip on me and we did it!!
Trying to figure this whole thing out.....
Pretty dang cool mom!!!
Proud of all that hard work!!
We started off early Saturday morning at the zoo with some good friends of ours, Laurel and Layney Molini. We met at 8 ready to get our egg hunt on!! I had a feeling pictures with the easter bunny were pretty much out of the question since our little incident with "Rambo" the Owasso Rams Mascot last fall... He pretty much shakes and screams when he sees any costumed thing heading his way. Sure enough, the little old lady asked if he'd be taking any pictures with the Easter bunny and he proudly replied, "NOPE! I scared da Eater Bunny!" That's okay, maybe next year :) Here are a few pictures from the Zoo!
Waiting for the countdown!!
Move it or lose it sister!!
After the Zoo hunt, we came home for a quick nap before the neighborhood egg hunt! Our small group puts on the event and for the second year in a row, it was a huge success!! We just purchase 250-500 eggs per family and fill them with candy, then distribute fliers all over our neighborhood and watch the kiddos flood in! This year, we were so fortunate enough to get $100 donation to go toward candy. What a blessing!
Getting lined up and ready to go!
Directly following the neighborhood hunt, we headed home to get ready for Bobby's 30th Birthday block party! Bobby isn't much for making a fuss about birthdays, especially his own, but I suggested we do something fun this being a monumental one and all! He decided the only thing he really wanted was to get to know his neighbors better so we bought a ton of food and invited the neighbors and a bunch of his close friends and family over and 'we had us a cookout'! Pretty much the entire cul de sac showed up, along with a bunch our friends and family and we had a blast! I think we counted close to 70 guests throughout the evening!! I am so mad at myself for not remembering to get the camera out but I was too busy getting to know our neighbors! It was fun and it's so nice to be able to have a conversation with them by name now instead of a measly wave every once in awhile! If you don't know you neighbors, I urge you to go introduce yourself!
Sunday was just awesome! We started our day at FCC, man was God moving through that place! I am so humbled to serve a God that has so much love for me. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Now that I have my own children, God's love for us is totally put into perspective for me. It gives me chills just thinking about it... PRAISE HIM, HE IS RISEN!!!!!
A few pics from our Easter outfit photo shoot :)
We went with plaids this year :)
Sweetest brothers :)
Later in the afternoon on Sunday we went to my moms house for some yummy dinner and family time!
Incredible family :) Too much fun!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday filled with Jesus, eggs, friends and family!!
